We Do Not Sell Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their advertising or marketing purposes. We do not track you across other companies’ apps, websites, or services for advertising or measurement purposes.

Profiles and Private Chats

Housemate Finder is a members-only community. Your profile information and messages are not made public on the open internet. Information you add to your profile is shown to other members only according to your privacy settings and how you use the app. For example, people you accept as friends may be able to see additional profile details or photos if you set them that way. Messages are private between the people in the conversation. We do not read messages unless it is necessary for safety reasons (for example, investigating a report), legal compliance, or technical support that you request.

Information Collected to Provide the Service

To provide the service, we collect and store the information you choose to provide, such as your account details (like email and username), profile information, photos you upload, and messages you send. We use this information only to operate Housemate Finder, provide features, help members connect, keep the community safer, and respond to support requests. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising.

App Store and Google Play Collection

Apple and Google may collect information related to app downloads, device or account activity, and purchases as part of providing App Store or Google Play services. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.

Important Note About “We Don’t Collect Data”

Because Housemate Finder supports accounts, profiles, and private messaging, the service must receive and store some user information to function. For that reason, it is usually not accurate to say “we do not collect any data.” A clearer and more accurate statement is that we do not sell personal information, we do not share personal information for advertising, and we do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites.
